Lasso celebrates International Women’s Day 2019

International Women’s Day presented a great opportunity for Lasso to celebrate women in the media industry as well as the work of two-thirds of carers in our community, who are women.
The video we produced for not-for-profit organisation Carers WA, had a positive response internally and across social media platforms. Carers WA provides ongoing support to carers in the community and gives them a voice when they are often unrecognised by the health industry. They provide valuable resources and a support network to carers including counseling, advice, hospital programs, workshops as well as support to carers as young as 8 years old.

Our proactive determination to help share their video and spread their message paid off on 8 March 2019, which also happened to be International Women’s Day, when our collaborative project with Carers WA ‘We are Carers’ was selected by Women in Film and Television (WIFT) for screening on Yagan Square’s digital tower screen. The large circular screen on the 45-meter high tower provided the perfect view for the intimate and touching stories of five inspirational and humble carers in Perth’s community.

Carers WA were grateful for the opportunity to share their film with visitors to the city. It was screened 3 times throughout the day alongside other empowering films featuring or made by women.

More powerful together, Australia’s IWD theme, rings true not only for carers in the community and womankind but for everyone. We must empower one another.
Lasso’s experience and understanding of the media industry enables us to continue to support our clients beyond the delivery of the video.
